About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Level Designer/Concepteur-trice de niveau to join our team at Haven Entertainment Studios, a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for designing and building engaging game environments that bring our vision to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Build Game Environments: Create immersive and interactive game environments that meet the project's design vision and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with artists, game designers, gameplay programmers, and sound designers to ensure a cohesive and engaging player experience.
  • Assess and Refine Gameplay: Evaluate gameplay, navigation, and flow to ensure a memorable player experience and make data-driven decisions to improve levels and models.
  • Communicate Design Ideas: Clearly convey design concepts and ideas to stakeholders and team members, ensuring that everyone is aligned with the project's vision.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Continuously research and stay current with the latest trends and best practices in level design, seeking inspiration from other multiplayer games and industry leaders.
Requirements
  • 5+ Years of Experience: Proven track record of designing and building engaging game environments in a related role.
  • AAA Console Experience: Shipped at least one AAA console title, with a strong interest in multiplayer/live service games.
  • Strong Analytical and Critical Thinking Skills: Ability to review and assess levels against design criteria, with excellent communication skills to convey design ideas and concepts.
  • Organizational and Adaptability Skills: Ability to organize tasks, work with production to establish time estimates, and adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.
  • Knowledge of Level Editing Tools and Scripting Languages: Familiarity with Unreal level editing tools and scripting languages, as well as 3D modeling tools (3Dsmax, Blender, etc.).
