Job Title: Full Stack Software Engineer - POLARIS II Development

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Software Engineer to join our POLARIS II Development Team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for the support, maintenance, enhancements, and development of the POLARIS II application suite of programs and databases.


About the Role:
  • Support, maintain, enhance, and develop the POLARIS II application suite of programs and databases
  • Troubleshoot software problems and implement solutions
  • Analyze, design, develop changes, fixes, and prepare detailed technical specifications and project plans for POLARIS II related systems
  • Lead systems development, programming, and implementation activities and undertake major developments as a member and/or leader of a project team
  • Recommend revisions, enhancements to the workflow, procedures, and policy related to POLARIS II system
  • Define unit, system, parallel, stress, and acceptance testing criteria for POLARIS II system releases and ensure that appropriate test data is created
  • Participate in integration and regression testing
  • Prepare technical documentation
  • Implement security policies as set out by Teranet's Security Officer
  • Assist the Manager in various administrative and planning tasks
  • Mentor junior staff

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline
  • ~8+ years hands-on experience in analyzing user requirements, systems analysis, systems design, and programming
  • ~Experience in multi-tier web application development
  • ~5+ years hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, HTML, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, JQuery, Ajax, JSP, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, JBoss, AMQ, iText7, Ant, Maven, Jenkins Pipeline, EclipseLink, TopLink, LDAP, Oracle RDBMS, and SQL
  • ~Excellent command on concepts, practices, and procedures of systems and implementation development life cycle
  • ~Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Design and Programming (familiarity with Rational Rose and RUP is an asset)
  • ~Strong knowledge of Relational Database Design and Object-Relational Database Mapping
  • ~Ability to develop & maintain SQL scripts and Shell scripts in UNIX environment
  • ~Extensive knowledge of UNIX environment
  • ~Coaching capabilities with respect to teaching and mentoring more junior staff members
  • In accordance with legal agreements with the Ministry of Government Services, employees must pass security and credit checks
