SUMMARY

At Smartrend Manufacturing Group (SMG), we value the importance of quality in every aspect of our business. The Quality Inspector plays a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of quality in our products and processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspecting and Testing: Perform routine inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure conformance to established quality standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review quality documentation, including NCRs, FAIs, CoCs, and other relevant reports.
  • Maintenance and Calibration: Support the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify non-conforming products or processes and report issues to the relevant team.
  • CAPA and RCA: Assist in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address identified issues.
  • Auditing and Compliance: Conduct and support internal audits to maintain ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certifications.
  • Customer Complaint Resolution: Participate in root cause analysis and implement 8D reports to resolve customer complaints.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering).
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in QA, manufacturing, or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is an asset.
  • Understanding of quality systems, standards, and methods (e.g., ISO 9001, SPC, FMEA, PPAP).
  • Background in manufacturing processes and practices.
  • Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma process improvement is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CAD software.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
