Job Description: Facilities Maintenance Specialist

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing routine and on-demand maintenance and repair services on non-technical facility components, such as walls and floors. The Technician will work in accordance with established processes and practices and comply with internal and external requirements, including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection standards.

This role involves:

  • Maintaining and repairing non-technical facility components;
  • Demonstrating an interest in enrolling and completing a trades certification or license;
Key Duties & Responsibilities

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will:

  • Perform work in accordance with established processes and practices;
  • Comply with all internal and external requirements, including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection standards;
  • Monitor assigned facilities by conducting regular inspections and monitoring non-technical component conditions;
  • Respond to routine and on-demand service requests;
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair work on non-technical components within the facility;
  • Record resolution data within the service maintenance management database and ensure work completed meets quality and contract response requirements;
  • Assist in implementing the preventative maintenance program and maintain all assigned tools and equipment;
  • Participate in and assist with facility-related projects;
  • Maintain positive relations with tenants and customers through effective communication and delivery of services.
Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in facility operations and maintenance work;
  • A high school diploma;
  • Trade-related training as an asset;
  • Ability to adhere to and properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance;
  • Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair non-technical facility components;
  • Strong environmental, health, and safety mindset and ability to perform work in a safe manner;
  • Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification;
  • A valid driver's license and interest in enrolling and completing a trades certification or license.

We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
