Job Title: Shift Manager

Ontario Inc. is seeking a skilled Shift Manager to join our team. As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure that all tasks are completed on time.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain a high level of quality and efficiency.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that all food is prepared to a high standard.
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation to minimize waste and optimize resources.
  • Hire food service staff to ensure that our team is well-staffed and equipped to handle customer demand.
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare budget and cost estimates to ensure that our restaurant operates within budget.
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage to track our restaurant's performance.
  • Prepare and submit reports to management to ensure that our restaurant is operating efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to train and supervise staff.
  • Knowledge of the establishment's culinary genres.
