Cabinetmaker Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team at RITZ CABINETS LTD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking and cabinet fabrication, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate various woodworking machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
  • Prepare specifications for custom-made cabinets to maximize storage.
  • Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces using hand tools such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
  • Instruct apprentices as needed.
  • Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made.
  • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit and reinforce joints.
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
  • Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Supervise other workers.
  • Estimate costs and materials.
  • Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products.
Requirements:
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) weight handling.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Efficient interpersonal skills.
  • Accurate and organized.
  • Punctuality.
