Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Estimator to join our team at https://www.energyjobline.com/sitemap. As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing complete electrical cost estimates for electric transmission, generation, distribution, and substation projects in the utilities, industrial, and renewables space.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and support project estimators with technical support.
  2. Focus on the "in progress" portion of the estimating process; assessing technical project requirements & personnel needs.
  3. Assist Estimating Manager with implementing department procedures, methods, and process.
  4. Relay estimating information to Estimating Manager/Upper management.
  5. Assist Estimating Manager with utilizing and benchmarking historical data.
  6. Prepare complete cost estimates for electric transmission, generation, distribution, and substation projects.

Requirements

  1. Electrical Technologist Diploma and/or Journeyman Electrician required, Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  2. Candidate must possess experience in understanding blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/labour estimates for projects and services.
  3. 5 or more years of experience in the Utility Industry and/or possessing estimating knowledge of electric distribution, transmission, and substation projects is preferred.
  4. Ability to prepare construction schedules in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera.
  5. Proficiency in all applications within Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Must excel in analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  7. Self-driven and have the ability to stay on-task for extended periods of time.
  8. A team player who can work with various partners from start until finish.
  9. Travel may be necessary throughout Canada – must hold a valid driver's license.
