Taro Pharmaceuticals, a leading provider of specialty generic pharmaceutical products, seeks a skilled Manufacturing Technician II - AM Shift to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our production processes.



Principal Duties and Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Technician II - AM Shift, you will be responsible for:




  • Operating filling lines and equipment in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with cGMP and SOP requirements.
  • Sourcing and supplying filling lines with components and bulk for packaging, minimizing bulk waste and achieving accurate fill weights.
  • Setting up, monitoring, and adjusting fill weights throughout the operation to minimize overfill.
  • Assembling and disassembling equipment, including fillers, manifolds, tube holders, and supply pumps.
  • Performing filler changeovers, set-ups, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Preparing detergent and sanitizing agents with the correct dilution factor and sanitizing filling rooms according to standard operating procedures.
  • Performing housekeeping tasks, including washing floors, walls, and other areas as required.
  • Completing G.M.P. documents, including cleaning and sanitization records, packaging work orders, and non-stationary equipment logs.
  • Troubleshooting machine problems effectively based on observed abnormalities.
  • Changing embossing/coding block characters (expiration date and batch number) for metal and laminate tubes as specified on the packaging work order (PWO).
  • Setting up and changing over product contact parts (hopper, graco pump, directional valve, auger, dosing pump, nozzle, etc.).
  • Signing off required line start-up documentation in the primary and secondary areas prior to production runs.
  • Assisting with training new hires and working with safety in mind at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful as a Manufacturing Technician II - AM Shift, you will need:




  • Grade 12 education or equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience in a pharmaceutical or related industry.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude combined with experience with mechanical set-ups on packing and filling lines in a pharmaceutical, food, or similar GMP manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent math skills and an excellent command of the English language.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to use a computer, including Microsoft and Manufacturing Execution software.
  • Forklift certification an asset.
  • Ability to work safely, stand for long periods, and safely lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to operate lifting devices such as drum lifters, pallet trucks, and pallet wrappers.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as required.
