Cash Handling Specialist

Job Summary
The Count Team Attendant is responsible for accurately counting cash assets in the count room and managing the movement of cash assets from the gaming floor to the Cashier Cage. This role involves managing transactions between vault and colleague cash desks, maintaining/balancing a float, and ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Count and verify cash, coins, and cash equivalents
- Organize and secure the storage of count carts, drop boxes, drop buckets, and bill cartridges
- Report suspect cash and cash equivalents
- Verify and reconcile before and after counts
- Bag, bundle, secure, and transport counts
- Provide information for reporting purposes
- Communicate effectively with operational departments
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external guests
- Comply with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education an asset
- Minimum 1 year of experience in high volume cash handling and counting preferred
- Ability to push or pull a cart of up to 100-150 lbs
- Ability to operate adding machines, currency counters, and other related equipment
- Ability to work well in a team environment with strong communication skills
- Ready and willing to work a flexible schedule consisting primarily of early morning shifts
- Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a Gaming Registration within applicable province
Work Environment Considerations
- Back-office environment, standing or sitting for long periods of time, non-traditional work hours including early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts
