Job Summary

Coast Mental Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operating Officer to lead our organization's strategic planning process, provide operational leadership to the senior management team, and serve as a liaison to external stakeholders and partners.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer will have strategic and operational responsibility for Coast Mental Health's programs and services, Information Technology/Information Management (IT/IM), and Quality Improvement and Properties areas.

The successful candidate will spearhead the organization's strategic planning process, provide operational leadership to the senior management team, and serve as a liaison to external stakeholders and partners.

Key Opportunities

The Chief Operating Officer will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide programmatic leadership and input for the strategic plan implementation process, in collaboration with the senior management team and staff.
  • Coach direct reports as they implement the strategic plan and transition/evolve programs and services.
  • Develop and implement a system for tracking, reporting, and evaluating the progress of the strategic plan implementation.
  • Contribute to the enterprise risk management process, identifying organizational risks, promoting risk mitigation, and a safe work environment.

Program Operational Leadership

The Chief Operating Officer will provide effective and inspiring leadership throughout the organization, leading, coaching, developing, and retaining a high-performance senior management team.

The successful candidate will orchestrate the delivery of programs and services, develop a broad and deep knowledge of all programs and services offered by the organization, and provide effective and meaningful leadership to program directors and service delivery.

External Relationship Development

The Chief Operating Officer will assist in managing and cultivating existing relationships with funders to secure and expand recurring revenue streams and identify new prospects and projects.

The successful candidate will publicly represent the organization with the media and external constituency groups, including community, governmental, and private organizations, building excitement for the organization's mission and vision.

Key Relationships

The Chief Operating Officer will report to the Chief Executive Officer and have oversight of programs and services, Information Technology/Information Management (IT/IM), Quality Improvement, and Properties areas.

The successful candidate will engage with the Board, senior management team, staff, foundation, vendors and consultants, funders, community members, and other stakeholders.

Compensation

The salary for this position is $151,806 - $189,757 - $227,709 (min – mid – max). The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full-time equivalent hours.
