Bunzl Canada, a leading distributor of business essentials, offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled procurement professional to join our team.
As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for managing selective key suppliers nationally across all warehouses. Your primary focus will be on building strong business relationships with suppliers and identifying the most cost-effective ways to manage inventory across the network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain product availability by considering sales trends, forecasts, lead times, and cost efficiency through issuing requests for quotations and purchase orders.
- Manage inventory control for multiple warehouses, including reviewing inventory to reduce and eliminate obsolete materials.
- Foster frequent communication with suppliers to ensure project/quotation and deliveries are on schedule.
- Negotiate product availability to meet customer requirements, handling the process of returning goods to vendors.
- Meet key suppliers, conduct facility visits to gain a clear understanding of operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate closely with sales, customer service, warehouse staff, and clients.
- Provide expert knowledge and services to internal staff, resolving customer complaints or problems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and minimum 3-5 years' experience in supply chain and procurement in a high volume distribution environment.
- Certification from Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) is preferred.
- Ability to effectively manage inventory and service levels.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with strong analytical and vendor negotiation skills.
- Basic knowledge of financial statements and trial balance information.
- Ability to work in a Windows environment with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Previous experience working with SX Enterprise is an asset.
