Overview

A&W Restaurants Inc. is seeking a dynamic Restaurant Operations Leader to join our team in Sooke, BC.

About the Role

This is a permanent full-time position responsible for overseeing daily operations of the restaurant. The successful candidate will have a strong background in restaurant management and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Balancing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as quality, speed of service, and cost control through effective management of the operating system.
  • Maintaining high standards of Provincial WCB and A&W regulations on a daily basis, identifying areas for improvement and taking corrective action.
  • Scheduling staff, including self, and assigning shift roles and responsibilities.
  • Fostering a healthy, motivating work environment by promoting workplace climate goals.
Human Resources
  • Training, developing, and managing staff performance.
  • Ensuring staff safety and well-being, creating a positive work environment.
  • Complying with Employment regulations on a daily basis.
  • Documenting critical incidents and reporting them to relevant stakeholders.
Financial Management
  • Completing daily, weekly, and period accounting tasks as directed by management.
  • Managing inventory control, ordering, cost control, and weekly inventory counts as directed by management.
  • Applying cash policies and food cost management principles.
Customer Experience
  • Maintaining cleanliness standards and safe food handling practices.
  • Providing exceptional customer service through efficient preparation, stocking, and staff positioning.
  • Assisting management with local store marketing efforts.
  • Managing accidents or complaints, implementing a service recovery program.
  • Maintaining team appearance to standard.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience in a restaurant supervisory role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven leadership abilities.
  • Expertise in all restaurant positions.
  • Complete knowledge of restaurant Operating Systems and Operating Standards.
  • High interest in developing others.
  • Ability to manage administrative aspects of the operation.
Preferred Skills
  • Acceptable oral and written English communication skills.
  • Acceptable mathematical skills.
  • Ability to train and coach others in a 'hands-on' approach; imparting knowledge.
  • Competence in Microsoft 365 Business applications.
  • Ability to lead meetings.
Additional Information

This is a physically demanding role requiring standing and walking for extended periods, with some heavy lifting involved.
