Lafarge Canada is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing health and safety programs, providing technical expertise, and collaborating with operational leadership to promote a culture of safety within our organization.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and implement comprehensive health and safety programs, including training, inspections, and reporting.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to employees on health and safety matters, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures.
- Collaborate with operational leadership to develop and implement safe work practices, including those related to machine guarding and electrical equipment.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of incidents, near misses, and observations, and analyze data to inform safety initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including Ontario and federal OHS laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of Canadian occupational health and safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
