Job SummaryThe URD Foreperson is responsible for overseeing and leading general activities on year-round underground URD distribution construction sites in Calgary and surrounding areas. This role involves leading tradespersons and other site personnel to achieve project milestones in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities- Take initiative to lead a URD team and coordinate material pickup and delivery.
- Direct tradespersons (Electrician / Gas Fusers) as required and provide direction and guidance to heavy equipment operators and signal operators.
- Assist in installing various utilities and being familiar with specification requirements with Fortis, Atco Gas, Shaw/Rogers, and TELUS shallow installation practices.
- Operate pneumatic tools, tampers, and tools as directed and direct traffic at or near construction sites.
- Perform other activities at construction sites as directed.

- High School Diploma
- 5 years' experience working in the construction industry as a URD Foreperson, on utilities (electrical/civil) projects.
- Ability to work safely
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Possess a valid Alberta Drivers License, Class 5 (or 3), and a clean drivers abstract
- Experience in reading and interpreting utility locates/blueprint drawings and ordering materials such as aggregates
- Ground Disturbance Certification
- Construction Safety Certifications including Traffic Control Person (TPS) Certification, Flagging Certification, Confined Space Awareness/Rescue, Fall Arrest, WHMIS, First Aid, and Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE)
