Job Title: Apprentice Plumber

Join District Mechanical as an Apprentice Plumber and embark on a rewarding career in plumbing and pipefitting. As a key member of our team, you will assist experienced plumbers in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in various locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine plumbing system layouts.
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings.
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size.
  • Ensure electrical and plumbing installations meet government regulations.
Requirements:
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Level one to five apprenticeship training.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, wet/damp environments, and various locations.
  • Physically demanding work requiring bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.
  • Steel-toed safety boots and tools required.
