ATCO is a leader in accelerating the energy transition, and we're seeking a skilled Test Lead to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for providing leadership in planning and executing all aspects of testing, ensuring delivery quality and schedule adherence.

The Test Lead will establish partnerships within ATCO IT, Environment, and Release community for collaborative working and ensuring the right stakeholders are involved during planning and execution exercises. You'll also be responsible for sharing delivery reports highlighting the testing phase completion and seeking approval from various stakeholders.

This is a unique opportunity to establish and lead a team to enhance their skills and play a crucial role in achieving ATCO IT's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand project requirements and contribute to building an overall test strategy adhering to robust testing practices to ensure quality project delivery.
  • Collaborate with project managers and development teams to define test objectives, scope, and success criteria.
  • Create a test plan document covering requirements, requirement to scenario traceability, test data requirements, and test environment.
  • Ensure that tests are successfully completed, and relevant artifacts are attached as per process.
  • Coordinate among various partners for scheduling and executing collaborated tests.
  • Keep track of daily execution velocity and critical path to ensure schedule adherence.
  • Validate defects being raised by the team for completeness and reproducibility.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive automation strategy for testing in-house and vendor software products, focusing on efficiency, coverage, and reliability.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of automated test scripts, leveraging ATCO's automation suite to simulate user interactions and validate system behavior.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) integrate automated tests into our CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and delivery of high-quality software releases.
  • Foster an environment of creating knowledge articles for faster team onboarding and referral for repetitive defects.
  • Coach, mentor, and teach individual team members to perform to the maximum of their ability and to coordinate progressive skill development within a high-functioning team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of years of technical experience in project delivery lifecycle – Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile.
  • Knowledge and experience in functional testing, API testing, cross-browser testing, and operational testing.
  • Hands-on experience with test planning and execution in a multi-vendor and multi-release environment.
  • Ability to review testing requirements for change requests, assessing the impact on test plans and schedules.
  • Understanding and experience with various tools and methodologies in the field of test management, defect management, and automation.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of an organization, within and outside of IT, including the ability to use non-technical language to explain technology to non-IT stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, release processes, and version control systems.
  • Exposure to applications Oracle CCS, Maximo would be an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of tools Jira, Xray, Sharepoint, Selenium, is required.
  • Knowledge of IBM Ignite is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and professionally in a dynamic environment while managing multiple demands and priorities.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and decision-making skills with a proven track record of on-time delivery.
