The Centre de recherche de l'Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont seeks a highly skilled Research Technician to join our team in the Laboratory of Functional Genomics and Bioinformatics. Our research group focuses on elucidating molecular mechanisms of growth, invasion, and drug resistance in brain cancer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of the laboratory and perform various experimental tasks, including cell culture, RNA extraction, molecular cloning, and immunofluorescence imaging.
- Collaborate with researchers to design and implement experiments, and analyze data to advance our understanding of brain cancer.
- Contribute to the development of new research projects and protocols, and participate in the preparation of research papers and presentations.
- Work effectively in a team environment, communicating complex scientific information to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in genomics and bioinformatics, and apply this knowledge to improve research outcomes.
Requirements:
- Fluency in both English and French is required.
- Experience in human embryonic stem cell culture and gene knockdown/knockout approaches is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with researchers, students, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
