About the Role

Chinook Industrial Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Machinist Technician to join our team. As a Machinist Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including computing dimensions and tolerances of machine parts, measuring and laying out work pieces, and setting up and adjusting production machineries/tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts using precise measuring instruments
  • Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly
  • Set up and adjust production machineries/tools to ensure accurate and efficient production
  • Fitting and assembling components and machine parts to close tolerance
  • Maintaining, repairing, and calibrating precision measuring instruments
  • Documenting and reporting deviations from specifications and tolerances
  • Verifying dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments
  • Setting up and operating conventional and computer-controlled machine tools
  • Verifying dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments

Requirements

  • 5 years or more of experience in the field
  • Machinist Trade Certification
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
  • Physical demands of the job include standing for extended periods, ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs), and ability to work in a physically demanding environment
