Executive Director of ICU Operations

About the Opportunity:
Description:
The Executive Director of ICU Operations is responsible and accountable for the daily operations of a 20-bed adult ICU/CCU at Alberta Health Services that encompasses patients with respiratory, cardiac, and/or multisystem organ failure. This individual actively participates in budget planning; resource allocation; implementing and maintaining clinical best practice standards; workforce optimization; and performance development. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage change, provide strategic and collaborative leadership, and engage a multidisciplinary team in providing and optimizing patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of clinical best practice standards and policies
- Manage and optimize the ICU/CCU workforce, including staffing and scheduling
- Develop and manage the ICU/CCU budget, including resource allocation and financial planning
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide and optimize patient-centered care
- Provide strategic and collaborative leadership to the ICU/CCU team
Requirements:
- Leadership skills, including effective communication, decision-making, coaching, and teaching
- Ability to foster a climate of cooperation among team members and build solid relationships with stakeholders
- Related Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant field
- Experience in managing a unionized environment
- Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or higher in a relevant field
- Experience in managing a critical care environment
- Expertise in electronic health information systems and financial/human resources applications
