Job Summary

This is a challenging opportunity to work as a Heavy Duty Equipment Maintenance Specialist at Newmont Inc. in the Porcupine Mine Site near Timmins, ON. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining surface mobile mining equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on surface mobile equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and testing
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve organizational goals and ensure a safe and healthful workplace
  • Comply with Newmont's safety policies and procedures, as well as OHSA and Corporate regulations
Requirements
  • Successful completion of intermediate in-school training sessions and 70% of required hours for the trade
  • Experience maintaining surface mobile equipment, including loaders, trucks, drills, personnel carriers, and service type vehicles and excavators
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, computer, and written skills
  • Ability to organize work and self-motivate, with a willingness to work with others
Working Conditions
  • Work a 5x5x4 schedule, with relocation required if you do not live near the site
