About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Meat Specialist to join our team at HOWARD THE BUTCHER FINE FOODS. As a Meat Specialist, you will be responsible for cleaning meats to prepare for processing or cutting, preparing special cuts of meat ordered by customers, and wrapping and packaging prepared meats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting
  • Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers
  • Cut, trim and prepare standard cuts of meat
  • Wrap and package prepared meats
  • Remove bones from meat
  • Cut poultry into parts
  • Clean and prepare fish and shellfish
  • Supervise other butchers, meat cutters and fishmongers
  • Train meat cutters
  • Slice cooked meats
  • Prepare special displays of meats, poultry and fish products
  • Shape, lace and tie roasts, other meats, poultry and seafood

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience
