Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing psychosocial support to patients and their families, promoting effective coping and adaptation to health challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and plan for safe return to community for patients, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide therapeutic crisis intervention and brief therapeutic interventions to patients and their families.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct social and psychosocial assessments, and provide recommendations for patient care.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adjusting priorities as needed.
Requirements
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Registration with the BC College of Social Workers.
  • One year of clinical experience as a Social Worker in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
