Job Description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Fire Alarm Technician to join our team at Chubb Fire & Security Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems in various settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with customers to identify issues with fire alarm systems and determine the necessary course of action.
  • Perform quality work and make recommendations to ensure customer satisfaction is met.
  • Test and commission fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Complete reports and documents related to work performed.
  • Conduct inspections of fire alarm systems as per Can/ULC S536.
  • Read and understand engineered drawings/specs and programs.
  • Verify fire alarm systems as per Can/ULC S537.
  • Conduct emergency lighting inspections as per local jurisdiction requirements.
  • Work overtime when required and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Perform other job duties assigned by the Fire Supervisor and/or Operations Manager.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the electronics field or a related discipline, including at least 2-3 years of experience servicing fire alarm systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • A valid Canadian driver's license with a clean record.
  • Certification in Alberta or equivalent is required (Alberta Journeyman Electrician certificate may be considered equivalent).
  • EST 3 or EST 4 certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience maintaining electrical systems would be an asset.
  • Previous experience maintaining Edwards or equivalent fire alarm equipment would be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience programming and troubleshooting Edwards or equivalent fire alarm equipment would be considered an asset.
