Mental Health Professional for Geriatric Population

At Fraser Health, we are committed to providing high-quality care to our patients and their families. As a Clinician in our Geriatric Community Mental Health team, you will play a vital role in assessing, treating, and consulting with mentally ill elderly clients of special complexity and difficulty.
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate mental health professional to join our team. If you have experience working with older adults and possess excellent clinical skills, we encourage you to apply for this challenging and rewarding position.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment, and follow-up services to our clients. You will be responsible for developing and implementing treatment plans, conducting home visits, and providing education and support to clients and their caregivers.

Responsibilities
• Assess and treat mentally ill elderly clients of special complexity and difficulty
• Develop and implement treatment plans in conjunction with other team members
• Conduct home visits and outreach services as needed
• Provide education and support to clients and their caregivers
• Collaborate with community agencies to develop and implement services for the elderly
• Participate in the provision of community education in matters related to older adults with age-related mental health issues
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and statistics according to established policies and procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling or other relevant health-related discipline
• One (1) year's recent, related experience with geriatric psychiatry clients in a recognized psychiatric and/or community mental health setting or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Eligible for registration with relevant professional association
• Valid Class V BC Driver's Licence and possession of a personal vehicle
