Job Description


We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our financial department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.


Key Responsibilities



  • Review project proposals and determine appropriate accounting treatment to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze and present project spend data on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries for all business transactions leading up to the financial statements.
  • Perform account analysis and monthly reconciliations of key Balance Sheet accounts to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.
  • Review ongoing projects and set up final assets upon project completion to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify, analyze, and reconcile inconsistent information and recommend adjustments where necessary to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Evaluate complex accounting concerns and consult with the accounting policy team to ensure compliance with internal control (SOX) requirements.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement selected solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Address and respond to queries from auditors and internal reviewers to maintain transparency and trust.


Required Skills and Qualifications


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or other relevant fields.
  • An accounting designation such as CFA, CPA (CA/CMA/CGA), or other relevant certifications.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years' experience in related financial roles.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to apply financial principles and theories.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and manage conflicting timelines/requirements.
