Job Overview
The Strategic Development Program Trainee will play a key role in accelerating EMCO Corporation's growth by learning and mastering multiple facets of our business. This includes counter service, showroom sales, shipping/receiving, and product replenishment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key customer accounts, creative problem-solving, and exceeding expectations.
Program Structure
The program is divided into four phases:
Phase 1: Warehouse Logistics
Learn the products we sell, how to efficiently warehouse and handle plumbing products, and understand all levels of sales support. This phase will consist of learning delivery routes, receiving, and putting away stock.
Phase 2: Consultant (Retail)
Get involved in customer service, counter sales, showroom sales, order management, inventory, and pricing controls. You will also learn credit management, financial statements, and more.
Phase 3: Consultant Project Management (B2B)
From helping customers with product and service issues to managing large-scale projects, you will take on new challenges and responsibilities.
Phase 4: Account Management
Learn how to find new business opportunities, sell our products, negotiate contracts, and build customer and vendor relationships. Drive customers to our showroom and develop a world-class partnership with designers, builders, and contractors.
Qualifications
- College and/or University degree
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with fast-paced customer service or counter sales
- Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
- Excellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and teammates
- Ability to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Intermediate math skills with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to learn how to operate material handling equipment
- Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity
- Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
