Role Overview

Interior Health is seeking a Casual Food Services Supervisor to join their team at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital in Salmon Arm, BC. This role requires a diploma from a recognized two-year Food Service & Nutrition Management program and a minimum of 1 year recent experience. As a Casual, hours are not guaranteed, and work is on an as-needed basis, with an hourly wage of $32.81 per hour effective April 01, 2024.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise designated staff by scheduling work assignments, determining training needs, and providing feedback.
• Plan menus and develop recipes in consultation with the Clinical Dietician, catering to nutritional and therapeutic diet needs of patients/residents.
• Estimate food requirements, order supplies, and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
• Visit patients/residents and family members to exchange diet-related information.
• Monitor expenditures for assigned areas and recommend budget allocations.
• Evaluate meal quality and quantity to ensure established standards are maintained.
• Coordinate meal preparation, pricing, and other duties for community services like Meals on Wheels.
• Assist in maintaining facility services by coordinating cafeteria operations, including pricing, staffing, and securing funds upon closure.
• Perform audits to ensure food service and quality assurance standards are met.
