Job Description

In this pivotal role as Associate Director, Sustainability Reporting Risk and Controls at Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), you will be instrumental in shaping the organization's sustainability reporting framework. As a seasoned professional with a strong background in finance and/or investment industries, you will design and lead HOOPP's Internal Control over Sustainability Reporting (ICSR) program, ensuring alignment with the COSO framework and consistency with the company's Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) program.

About the Role
  • Develop and implement an ICSR program that effectively mitigates sustainability reporting risks and promotes a culture of control within the organization.
  • Collaborate with various divisions, including Finance, Risk, Investment Management/Sustainable Investing, and IT, to identify key sustainability reporting risks and develop plans to mitigate them.
  • Foster relationships with stakeholders across the organization and act as an expert on sustainability reporting controls, providing advice and guidance as needed.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in finance and/or investment industries, with experience designing and/or leading internal controls programs like ICFR, including SOX or NI 52-109 compliance.
  • Chartered Accountant Designation along with a post-secondary degree.
  • Certification in sustainability reporting such as the Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) Credential is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of sustainability related financial reporting standard setting bodies and relevant frameworks like the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), the Canadian Sustainability Standards Board (CSSB), and the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
