Job Title: Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB). As a Medical Laboratory Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve our mission of providing high-quality healthcare services to our community.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform various analyses and technical work in a medical laboratory setting to help achieve a medical diagnosis or for research purposes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely test results.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of medical laboratory theory and practice, current trends, and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques in medical laboratory science.
Requirements:
  • Diploma of college studies with specialization in Medical Technology from a recognized institution.
  • Membership in the Ordre professionnel des technologistes médicaux du Québec.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a medical laboratory setting, with a strong understanding of laboratory quality assurance systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and working conditions, as well as on-call periods.
