Fabrication Metalworker

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Metalworker to join our team at Payless Truck Repair & Parts Ltd. in a full-time permanent position.

The successful candidate will have 1-2 years of experience working with metal fabrication and welding equipment, including manual and automated systems.

Responsibilities:

• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes related to metal fabrication
• Examine welds and ensure they meet standards and/or specifications
• Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment

Work Environment:

• Working in a shop environment with regular exposure to heavy machinery and potentially hazardous materials
• Physically demanding work requiring the ability to lift heavy loads and stand for long periods

Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications. The position also includes benefits such as health insurance and paid time off.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset
• At least 1 year of experience working with metal fabrication and welding equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Physical stamina to perform physically demanding work
