Assistant Professor - Strategic Management

Job Summary:

The Department of Management at the University of Toronto Scarborough invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in the area of Strategic Management. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025, or shortly thereafter.

About the Role:

We seek a highly qualified candidate with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research and to establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program. Responsibilities include advancing the area's research agenda, teaching undergraduate students at the University of Toronto Scarborough, and active involvement in PhD student education and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and publish in top-ranked and field-relevant journals or working papers meeting high international standards
  • Teach undergraduate students and contribute to the development of the department's curriculum
  • Supervise and mentor PhD students
  • Participate in departmental and university service

Requirements:

Candidates must have completed a PhD degree in Strategic Management, or a closely related area by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths. Particular attention will be given to applicants with a research focus in Entrepreneurship.
