Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team at Diljaan Trucking Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination unit to transport goods and materials across various locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transportation regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a tractor-trailer combination unit to transport goods and materials across various locations.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring accurate and efficient handling.
  • Obtain special permits and documents required for international routes.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and maintenance.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Ensure the safety and security of cargo, including tarping and securing loads.
Requirements:
  • Valid Class 1 or A Driver's License.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety protocols.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and handle heavy loads.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailer B trains.
  • Knowledge of CB radio communication systems.
  • Experience with long-haul, national, provincial, and regional transportation.
