Job Title: Educational Counsellor

CanNorth College of Health, Business, and Technology is seeking a highly skilled Educational Counsellor to join our team. As an Educational Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their academic and personal journeys.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Education: Provide guidance and support to students in achieving their academic goals, including advising on course selection and academic planning.
  • Experience: Collaborate with students to identify their strengths and interests, and help them develop a career path that aligns with their goals.
  • Attend Educational Conferences and Workshops: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in education, and share your knowledge with colleagues and students.
  • Counsel Students: Provide confidential and non-judgmental support to students on academic, career, and personal issues.
  • Participate in Staff Meetings: Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support student success.
Requirements:
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure that all student records and documents are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Client Focus: Provide exceptional customer service to students, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Efficient Interpersonal Skills: Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication: Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders through various channels.
  • Initiative: Take the lead in identifying and addressing student needs, and develop innovative solutions to support student success.
  • Judgement: Make informed decisions that support student well-being and academic success.
  • Organized: Prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
