Electrical Superintendent Job Description

Position Summary:

The Electrical Superintendent is a key member of our team, responsible for overseeing and managing site construction work for the Electrical division. This role requires strong leadership and technical skills, with a focus on ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of project requirements, including NAC's Health, Safety, and Environment policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with site teams, project workforce, subcontractors, suppliers, and owners to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks, including preparation of weekly planning aids and approval of timesheets.
  • Provide technical expertise to project management teams, including implementation of RFIs, RFS, CRX, commissioning plans, and requisitions.
  • Understand and interpret NAC's contractual obligations, ensuring projects meet quality standards and requirements.
  • Provide regular performance feedback and coaching to team members, with a focus on developing their skills and abilities.

Requirements:

  • Trade certification and 3-5 years of electrical superintendent experience on relevant heavy construction projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical and civil trades, as well as electrical.
  • Some project management experience and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead and assess trade performance, with a focus on problem-solving and communication.
  • Valid WHMIS, Elevated/Aerial Work Platform, and Fall Arrest certificates.
