Salary InformationThe estimated salary range for this position is between $60,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the University and PSAC.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong commitment to providing innovative and inclusive teaching strategies to deliver a nursing practicum course to undergraduate students. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellent teaching contributions with a proven aptitude for teaching at the undergraduate/graduate level.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities- Facilitate and support student learning in a practicum environment as students develop Entry to Practice competencies
- Support the application and development of knowledge, skills, judgement, and foster the development of critical thinking and clinical judgement, in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario Practice Standards and related documents, University and program policies and procedures
- Deliver the course using a technology-enhanced learning approach that includes a variety of inclusive teaching and learning strategies and assessments
- Proven commitment to providing innovative and inclusive teaching strategies
- Evidence of an ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to maintain effective relationships with a range of faculty, staff and students
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate/graduate students in a program
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the Learning Management System, Canvas
- Demonstrated ability to deliver classes remotely, using online modalities such as Kaltura Media and Google Meets
- An undergraduate degree in nursing (BSc N) is required, a Master's degree in nursing or a related field would be an asset
- A minimum of 3 years of recent and relevant experience as a Registered Nurse
