Reliability Engineer - Process Optimization

We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to join our team at Louisiana-Pacific Corporation. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing reliability programs and processes that drive safety, efficiency, effectiveness, customer satisfaction, innovation, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead root cause failure analysis and corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive failures.
  • Develop and administer proactive maintenance programs and equipment maintenance strategies based on site and business goals.
  • Analyze equipment histories to identify and address specific repetitive failures.
  • Drive lean initiatives across processes.
  • Develop and administer downtime tracking programs to ensure consistency of tracking throughout the mill.
  • Regularly review downtime reports and equipment histories to identify solutions for reoccurring maintenance problems.
  • Develop and administer plant condition monitoring/PM program coordination with maintenance planner/scheduler/area leaders.
  • Develop and administer plant lubrication programs, including administration of oil analysis programs.
  • Apply value analysis to make maintenance decisions.
  • Specify and develop standard repair techniques for major repetitive tasks.
  • Work with maintenance planner/scheduler/area leaders to develop job scopes for major unique jobs.
  • Develop standardization processes that influence new construction and equipment purchases.
  • Identify potential cost reductions through extended parts life, reduced labor cost, and other part-related improvement techniques.
  • Participate in review phases of design of capital additions and changes in plant layout.
  • Participate in approval of all new installations and technologies.
  • Train, develop, and coach internal resources and key stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' industry experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • In-depth practical knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance and reliability systems and process improvement processes.
  • Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental rules, laws, requirements, and applicable LP programs.
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of correct application of systems and processes that ensure continuous improvement.
  • A creative approach to new ideas.
  • Knowledge of engineering and design principles.
  • Basic budgeting and financial analysis skills.
Education:

Associates' degree in business, manufacturing, engineering, or equivalent. Bachelors' degree preferred.
