Deli Sales Associate

Reporting to the Deli Manager, key responsibilities for this position include:
Main Responsibilities- Provide exceptional information, assistance, and courteous service to customers to promote sales.
- Maintain and display all types of meat products according to established procedures.
- Place orders for inventory replenishment as needed and ensure proper mark-down reports.
- Advise the Department Manager of special or out-of-stock merchandise.
- Follow established morning setup and evening closing procedures.
- Address minor customer complaints in line with general sales policies and refer more serious issues to the Department Manager.
- Prepare, wrap, price, stock, and price-check merchandise as assigned.
- Unpack and check merchandise as assigned, verifying code dates.
- Maintain a safe work environment by observing safety measures and reporting hazardous conditions promptly to the Department Manager.
- Participate in stocktaking as required.
- Perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties in accordance with association standards.
- Operate necessary equipment to prepare merchandise for sale.
- Ensure proper equipment maintenance, monitor case temperature, clean equipment regularly, and notify the supervisor regarding repairs.
Requirements
- This role is physically demanding, involving frequent lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Candidates must be able to operate required equipment for Deli product preparation, merchandising, and sale.
- Must be strongly service-oriented, motivated, and capable of assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Ability to work morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts.
A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
