Civeo is seeking a highly skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a Culinary Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of foods, managing inventory and grocery orders, and ensuring the highest quality of food possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the First Cook in preparing and cooking menu items in accordance with established menu specifications;
- Ensure all daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning lists are completed;
- Maintain organized and clean food storage areas;
- Ensure food quality, food safety, and service standards are met and maintained daily;
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures by following company Safe Work Practices and Standard Operating Procedures;
- Assist in training and education of all culinary staff, including apprentices;
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of culinary experience working in a high-volume kitchen;
- Experience with high-volume baking, inventory, and grocery ordering would be an asset;
- Alberta recognized Journeyman Cook Certification is preferred;
- Must possess a valid National or Alberta recognized Food Safe Certificate prior to working;
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug/alcohol test;
- Proven leadership skills and self-motivation;
- Ability to work within a multi-cultural and unionized environment;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Excellent comprehension and command of the English Language;
- Must be able to move, lift, carry, pull, push, and place objects weighing up to 50 lbs;
- Ability to work a 20/10 rotation.
