Job Summary:
The Middlesex Hospital Alliance is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our ICU/CCU Department. As a critical care nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU/CCU Department
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
Requirements:
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum 2 years of experience in adult critical care nursing
- Previous experience with ventilator and BiPap management preferred
- Current BLS-HCP certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Knowledge of critical care standards and medical directives
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the management of wounds and PICC lines
- Proficiency in IV initiation, assessment, and documentation
- Experience in Electronic Health Record environment
- Knowledge of medical directives and delegated medical acts
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
