Job Summary

The Pharmacy Summer Student position at Prairie Mountain Health provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic pharmacy environment. As a key member of our team, you will assist in the delivery of high-quality patient care and support the development of pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of medications via the medication distribution system.
  • Learn and function with pharmacy software systems to optimize patient care and streamline processes.
  • Compound and manufacture pharmaceutical products under the guidance of experienced pharmacy staff.
  • Contribute to inventory control functions to ensure accurate and efficient medication management.
  • Support the Regional Pharmacy Program by participating in projects and initiatives that promote quality patient care.
  • Distribute controlled substances and maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the research and literature search of drug information requests to provide accurate and timely information to healthcare professionals.
  • Complete and present a project assigned by the Manager of Pharmacy Services to demonstrate your skills and knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the delivery of pharmacy services.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
