Labrador Grenfell Health is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Supply Technician to join our Surgical Services team at the Labrador West Health Centre.

Job Summary:

The Sterile Supply Technician is responsible for maintaining a high standard of care in the cleaning and sterilization of instruments and supplies. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleans, checks, and operates sterilizers, washer disinfectors, and other equipment
  • Cleans, disinfects, identifies, assembles, and sterilizes equipment trays, instruments, and bundles
  • Reprocesses flexible endoscopes, specialized, and general surgical instruments
  • Completes quality assurance checks and documents temperature and humidity in storage locations
  • Handles and transports sterile supplies, contaminated instruments, and equipment
  • Represents Surgical Services on committees and assists with orientation of new staff

Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a recognized Sterile Processing Technician Program or Course
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR)
  • A satisfactory certificate of conduct
