Assistant Trainmaster

Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Trainmaster to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains across our network.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate train movements within the yard and mainline, ensuring compliance with our Local Service Operating Plan and Operating Plan.
- Develop and implement processes to standardize train operations, including arrival, classification, building, inspecting, and dispatching.
- Provide leadership and accountability for safety, service, productivity, and financial metrics.
- Lead trains and engines operating employees, promoting a culture of safety and rule compliance.
- Occasionally operate trains, maintaining certifications and licenses as required.
- Previous railway experience as a conductor, with Locomotive engineer qualification an asset.
- 2 years' supervisory experience in logistics or an operational environment, preferred.
- Availability to work all types of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in all weather conditions.
- Leadership presence, drive, and commitment to career advancement.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, with ability to resolve complex issues.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing task priorities and work situations.
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to provide clear and concise instructions.
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma, required.
- Valid driver's license, required.
