Job Summary

EMCO Corporation is seeking a skilled DZ Delivery Driver to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for loading trucks, making deliveries and pickups at customer and vendor locations, and ensuring safe and efficient transportation of goods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive EMCO trucks safely and in compliance with company policy, traffic laws, and provincial regulations.
  • Load trucks with material to be delivered to customers or vendors, ensuring proper equipment is available.
  • Secure loads properly to prevent damage or shifting during transport.
  • Complete pre-trip inspections and report any mechanical issues to management.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Understand shipping documents, including GHS, and ensure accurate delivery of materials.
  • Unload materials at designated locations and obtain signatures from receiving parties.
  • Resolve shipping discrepancies with customers and provide excellent customer service.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the Profit Centre Manager or Warehouse Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; college or university degree an asset.
  • Valid DZ driver's license.
  • Clean driver's abstract demonstrating good driving skills.
  • 3+ years of experience driving a truck and making deliveries.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing driving motor vehicles and commercial vehicles.
  • Understanding of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act.
  • Ability to safely operate a delivery vehicle.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with customers, vendors, and teammates.
  • Able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful situations.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience with or knowledge of plumbing or building products sold at the Profit Centre.
  • HIAB Boom experience.
