The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Supervisor, Corporate Actions to join our award-winning firm in the Vancouver office. This role offers a unique opportunity for growth and development in a dynamic environment.
Job DescriptionThis position requires a seasoned leader to manage the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Actions team. The successful candidate will be analytical, process-driven, and skilled at juggling competing priorities to ensure tasks are executed with speed and accuracy. Key responsibilities include:
- Inspiring, coaching, and developing the Corporate Actions team.
- Conducting formal performance review activities and coaching for performance all year long.
- SUPPORTING continuous learning and development of team members.
- Leveraging the talent management program to identify and mentor emerging leaders for succession planning initiatives.
- Recruiting internal and external candidates using best-in-class recruitment practices that align with the firm's core values.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising activities required for the effective day-to-day operation of the Corporate Actions team. This includes:
- Supporting training programs directed towards our investment advisory team.
- Reviewing and improving existing practices and streamlining department processes.
- Providing guidance to the team on responding to exception scenarios and addressing deficiencies, while considering various stakeholder positions.
- Anticipating challenges and planning strategically for future growth opportunities.
- Developing subject matter expertise for all facets of Corporate Actions requirements, including maintaining up-to-date reference manuals.
- Maintaining a high level of data accuracy for assurance in quality output.
The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, excellent judgment, analytical and decision-making skills, and a high degree of self-discipline with superior time management and organizational abilities. Additionally, they will have:
- Strong problem-solving abilities accompanied by initiative to leverage technology to identify, streamline, and implement processing improvement opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise good judgment in setting priorities and undertaking complex administrative tasks.
