About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Demi Chef de Partie to join our culinary team at River Rock Casino Resort. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for the production and execution of Chinese menu items, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook menu items to our high standards, following standardized recipes and guidelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of checklists, garnishes, sauces, and other products for high-volume production.
  • Collaborate with Commis Chefs to receive, break down, store, and rotate products.
  • Clean and maintain culinary equipment according to health and safety policies.
  • Participate in month-end inventories and other tasks as assigned.
  • Provide exceptional service to guests, taking orders and ensuring a positive dining experience.
  • Attend culinary meetings and contribute to the development of new menu items and culinary initiatives.
  • Liaise with operational departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders, including guests, ownership, and employees.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of culinary experience in Chinese cuisine, with wok experience considered an asset.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Culinary education in authentic Asian cuisine is a plus.
  • Level 1 FoodSafe, Safe Food Handling, or Food Handler Certificate.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin/Cantonese is considered an asset.
  • A willingness to learn, develop, and achieve new skills for personal and professional growth.
