Electrical Product Specialist

QAI Laboratories is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Product Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Electrical Department, you will be responsible for performing testing and evaluation of electrical products to nationally recognized electrical safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform testing and evaluation of electrical products to ensure compliance with CSA, UL, IEC, and other relevant standards.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to grow all aspects of our Electrical Department's business.
  • Provide technical expertise for IT/Hi-Tech, lighting, industrial, laboratory test and measurement, medical, and hazardous location products.
  • Responsible for helping to grow our overall Electrical program, including scope and revenue.
  • Participate in audits and provide technical lead as required.
  • Perform inspections and field evaluations at remote client sites.
  • Interact effectively and professionally with customers and staff.
  • Ensure work complies with our quality system.
  • Travel throughout Canada and the USA as business dictates.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • 5 years directly related experience.
  • Superior MS Word and Excel skills, proficiency with Email and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Good Laboratory Practice skills essential for testing products.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Key Technical Competence:
  • Practical knowledge in areas of expertise.
  • Able to evaluate requirements for testing, inspection, and/or certification and develop timelines.
  • Able to meet expected timelines and prioritize tasks.
  • Able to multi-task and coordinate activities across multiple departments, teams, and locations.
  • Able to identify conformance to test, inspection, and/or certification criteria and communicate this to clients and throughout the organization.
