Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Bothar. This role is responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of all equipment used by the company during projects.

About the Role

As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will be part of the operations team responsible for the safe, technical, and economical execution of projects in the field. You will work closely with the Equipment Manager and Site Supervisor to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and serviced.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and service electrical equipment used in Direct Pipe Installations, Microtunneling, Auger Boring projects.
  • Prepare service logs and reports, in collaboration with the Equipment Manager.
  • Troubleshoot issues with equipment and conduct required electrical repairs.
  • Assist with equipment set up during mobilization, and equipment disassembly during demobilization.
  • Participate in tailgate and operations meetings.
  • Coordinate with Management and Operators in equipment troubleshooting and documentation.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge and understanding of the operation of tunnelling equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and applicable codes to determine wiring layouts.
  • Brief understanding of PLC's and VFD drives.
  • Ability to comprehend and troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Build, assemble and install cable trays, pull-in and install cables.
  • Install, test and maintain power generation and distribution systems.
  • Cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install conduits and other types of the electrical conductor enclosures and fittings.
  • Position and install distribution and control systems such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, and fuses.
  • Splice, join, and connect wire to form circuits.
Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a Red Seal Journeyman Electrician Certification and at least 4 years of experience in electrical works. Relevant work experience with Mircrotunnel Boring Machines and trenchless technology is an asset.

Requirements
  • WHIMIS, First Aid, CSTS or PCST, Confined Space Entry and Rescue, Fall Arrest / Fall Protection certifications.
  • Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol clearance.
  • Must be fluent in English (written and spoken).
