Job Title: Cabinetmaker

We are seeking a skilled cabinetmaker to join our team at Avish Constructions. As a cabinetmaker, you will be responsible for creating custom-made cabinets that maximize storage and operate woodworking machines to cut, shape, and form parts and components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers.
  • Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets.
  • Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces using hand tools.
  • Instruct apprentices.
  • Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made.
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems.
  • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units and reinforce joints.
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
  • Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Supervise other workers.
  • Estimate costs and materials.
  • Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products.
