We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Electronics Specialist to join our team at OSI Maritime Systems Ltd. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the success of our organization.
Job Description:
The Marine Electronics Specialist will be responsible for providing engineering support for the integration and problem diagnosis of OSI's navigational system products. This includes assembling, performing quality testing and diagnostics, installing and configuring, servicing and repairing OSI products and navigational systems for our clients worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with a professional attitude as part of a team.
- Install and commission navigation systems products at customer sites globally.
- Detect and repair hardware assembly issues; identify and resolve software configuration, network, and integration problems.
- Support the Systems Engineering and Software Test departments in designing, developing, and implementing system test environments to meet project requirements.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of technical training to customers on system installation, maintenance, and problem diagnosis.
- Occasionally lead team tasks and activities related to the role.
- Provide customer support via email and phone through the OSI Support team.
- Discuss technical issues with OEMs regarding setup and configuration of sensors and equipment.
- Offer Service Engineering guidance and advice to internal staff in resolving technical challenges.
- Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation in accordance with Service procedures.
- Produce and maintain all necessary documentation in compliance with company standards and ISO 9001:2015 regulations.
- Perform required testing for relevant products and maintain documents in company databases.
- Mark discrepancies in drawings and documentation and forward markups to relevant departments for correction.
- In collaboration with Systems Engineering, create or edit as-built drawings and documentation when tasked with OSI System design.
- Utilize provided SW and FW tools to diagnose issues, configure, and update OSI Navigation subsystems and systems.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of supplied SW and FW tools with reference to updates and inclusion of new tools to enhance OSI Service capability.
- Ensure tools, equipment, materials, and documentation required for each job are in good working order.
- Comply with applicable employment, environmental, health, and WCB safety legislation.
- Complete additional project-related tasks as required by the Service Supervisor and Supportability Manager.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Engineering or a related field, or a Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- At least 7 years of experience in Engineering, preferably in the military domain; experience delivering complex support solutions to government/military customers is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of practical experience in a Service Engineering environment, preferably in marine electronics; experience building and troubleshooting computer issues, radar, and electronic sensors is an asset.
- Extensive knowledge of Electronic and Windows operating systems; working knowledge of system networks and software scripting.
- Excellent customer relations, prioritization, organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
What We Offer:
We provide a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including extended healthcare, dental care, group retirement savings plan, emergency travel assistance, and employee and family assistance program.
