About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Kids and Company. As a Child Development Specialist, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for young children to grow and thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Lead activities, tell or read stories, teach songs, and take children on outings to local points of interest.
  • Encouraging Creativity: Foster children's creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Health and Safety: Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on licensing regulations and ensure compliance in all aspects of child care.
  • Team Collaboration: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Environment and Resources: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Certifications and Training: Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1), First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate.
  • Personal Qualities: Dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, reliability, team player, and values and ethics.
  • Work Conditions: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
